Cleveland Ohio commercial photographer | Advertising photography in Cleveland | Cleveland and Ohio editorial photographer: DeVaul Photography

Jon DeVaul has been shooting pictures since the early 70's.  After graduating from The Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, he worked as an assistant for one of the foremost food and still life photographers in the United States. He went on to become a staff photographer for The May Company Department Stores. After leaving The May Company, Jon opened DeVaul Photography, shooting for clients in the areas of healthcare, retail, and food.

In the 90's, Jon made the transition to small format, available light photography, where he concentrated on personal work.  Some of this work has been marketed at The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.  During this transition, Jon also went from shooting film to digital capture...a change that saw him go from a "photo purist" to an artist who realized that "pressing the shutter" was not the final step in creating the image, but rather the start.  2008 has seen Jon make a return to the studio where he once again is shooting still life and portraits/beauty.  By combining what he captures with his camera and what he does on his computer, he is able to create the images, both in and out of the studio, that you see here.
